COCKTAILS AND DETAILS - FRAUD

We hired this vendor to plan our wedding after reading great reviews about their service on Weddingwire. They totally botched our wedding, include showing late for the start of the event.

Once the wedding was over and we posted our review on Weddingwire, 5 positive reviews were posted for the vendor within minutes of our post.

This lead me to believe that the people at cocktails and details in St Simons Island, Ga are writing their own reviews and misleading potential clients. Stay clear of this company whose lead wedding planner presents herself as a top planner, but can't show up in time for your wedding.

BAD COMPANY!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had purchased a listing and had it for almost one year. In that year I recieved only 3 LEADS 2 which had no idea how I got their info. They were not even getting married. This company is a SCAM taking money from small business owners and promising leads with a paid subscription. On top of that their customer service SUCKS but when they are trying to sell you they call you ALL DAY LONG. I went to their networing EVENT and half the people there were not happy either. I said well, I am gonna stick with them...maybe I should even upgrade maybe I will get better results...YEAH NO. Well, on top of that they told me since i cxled I would be a "LIFE STATUS" well that "LIFE STATUS" makes me completely unsearchable on their engine. WHAT A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!!

Wedding Wire Scam artists - Sending client false leads

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Background: I was a loyal customer for 5 years @ $3000 year.

I am a very successful photographer with over 90 reviews on wedding wire. I have at least 20 emails from weddingwire potential brides but NO one leaves a phone number and No one replies to my email responses.

WHY?

I found out today that when a bride request information from a vendor, weddingwire sends a request to SIX additional vendors besides the one they are requesting information from. NO WONDER I HAVE SO MANY INQUIRES. AND NO WONDER NO ONE REPLIES TO MY EMAILS. Brides feel like they are being spammed.

I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING SCAMMED. You are not getting any more of my money Wedding Wire.

Thank you for this post. I have been getting frequent request.

More than usual. I got so excited because I thought finally the fees are finally rewarding me. Not one has replied to any of my responses. I finally got a response from a customer who seemed irritated by my email.

This confused me so much. She said she never requested for my services. It made me think. Comparing my requests from the previous year (2018) to now (2019)...

the requests were not specific any more, they were generic messages sent at random.

Some wedding dates were in the past and others in 2020 or 2021. What a shame!

I am a paying vendor and I believe this is exactly what is happening to me. False leads and once I received a call from another local vendor when I did a test as a bride inquiring on my profile.

I called WW and they told me it was impossible. I asked specifically if my inquiry is sent into a "pool", they denied it.

I pay very good money for a small business and wouldn't mind paying it if it worked. They keep blaming it on me and my storefront.

How did you get them to admit it's true?

Wedding Planner

I hired Susan Moran of That's It! Wedding Concepts, as a wedding designer for my daughter's wedding this past September 2015.

I found Susan to be very detailed oriented and extremely organized. Her taste in design was exquisite. Susan was very easy to work with and a great listener when wedding details proved to be overwhelming at times.

Being that my daughter's wedding was outside at Moonstone Manor, there was an overwhelming number of details to consider. Susan kept notes on everything and at the appropriate time, she reminded me of what had to be accomplished and at what times. I consider her and her work extremely professional. I would hire her again for any formal, semi-formal or casual affair.

She made my daughter's wedding a beautiful event. Thanks Susan!!

Refusal to post any negative reviews for vendors

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I recently tried to employ the GOD Squad minister service to do my wedding, but while trying to work out the details I discovered that they were extremely rude and told them I wouldn't be using their services. Then they harassed my fiance with text messages calling us *** and cheap. I tried to post a negative review on Wedding Wire, where we found them, but because we never actually signed a contract with them they wouldn't post it. This policy is ridiculous. It basically precludes almost all negative reviews a service would get. I would not recommend anyone use this website to find honest reviews for any vendors.

Jamie Hoenshel

To Whom It May Concern: Jamie Hoenshel Photography has fraudulent pictures on her webpage that she is passing as her own. It may not be in your best interest to have her on wedding wire. She was confronted about those pictures and she continued to claim the pictures were hers, even after the original owner of the pictures were found. She continued to evade the question at hand, numerous times. The client was very unhappy with the situation and the situation was never rectified. An investigation may be opening on her. As mentioned before, it may be best for you to not have her on wedding wire.

Wedding Wire TERRIBLE WEBSITE!!! Please do not

Terrible!!!! Please do not use Wedding Wire. I had a very bad experience as a vendor. First They charged 900 dlls that they didn´t have to (mistakes). They refunded money but I had to pay extra, as Im living in Cancun, had to pay the Exchange rate and solved some issues with bank. I though well it was a mistake!!!! , later on, again they could not charge next months (they said because my credit card), they were quite rude saying my cards did not work-passing or whatever (over and over again), after talking to my mexican bank like 20 times, problem was: weddingwire charging system, so by then I was quite rude. Expensive site, terrible costumer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I was surprise like Americans do business pretty well and this was like a bad joke. Of course I had to stay 6 months like all that *** they sell!!! I´m thankful I listened my inner voice and didn´t sign up for 1 year like Francesca was selling.... Bloddy Web Site....do not wast your money!!!

Not Worth the money

I thought I would get more business from Wedding Wire but I was wrong I'm a dessert vendor and was talked into signing up for 6 months big mistake! I wanted month to month but they require at least 6 months. I'm on month 3 with no bookings and only 2 inquires which I know are fake because the brides only emailed me without any questions this happend after I complained to them. It's not worth the money to me and won't renew my contract with them I'm in San Diego and there are only 7 other paid vendors out of 183 free listings that should have been a red flag to me!

Wedding wire is bogus

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This is not an honest company. They are vindictive, non responsive, overpriced and it won't get you more jobs.

The online gallery is impossible to edit. The reps promise you the world and don't deliver. Don't bother with these folks, its a joke. When I cancelled my account, they pasted a bad review on my free account that can't be removed or refuted that isn't even the service being advertised.

They are so interested in being authentic they don't listen to their advertisers about what the real story is.

There is favoritism with wedding wire on top of that, some vendors on the other hand get many bad reviews but know reps and have all their bad reviews expunged. Don't trust this company.

Signed up for what I tought was a trial account and turns out is a contract for six months!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I signed up thinking and under the impression that I was opening an account that I could cancel within 30 days after trial. I did just that added all my details and followed every single thing I was told to do fir the supposed success of my vendor account. But by the third week I discovered that the wedding wire site is more for established business and that I didn’t really needed to have an additional account with them, when I have everything they could offer, on my own etsy shop. Well, after hours trying to find a way to cancel my account and not understanding how it is that there’s was nothing ANYWHERE on their site to lead you. I proceed to call them just to be told that I wasn't doing enough and that they couldn’t do anything because I was under a CONTRACT! - WHAT????? - Oh I flipped... But nope, nothing they "could do" about it. So till today I am stuck paying $66 monthly for NOTHING... for six months - and Oh LORD I am praying that when these six month come up they don't tell me that It was actually 12months.... Just don't - If you want to try it - do the "FREE" account and please please please do your research first, not even on their page - because like me I was total miss lead when it said "you cancel at any time" never not even once I say anything that say that once you signed up you were pretty much stuck. This is just simple BS. I really hope this helps someone. Good Luck - D

Same experience here. I thought the contract was only for the users who wanted the service for a year.

I just wanted to go month by month and thought I was free to cancel at the end of any given month. When I discovered that it was pretty much a scam, and didn't get a single lead at all, I wrote to cancel. Then they got NASTY with me and told me I was under a 6 month contract. I filed a dispute with my credit card company so their charges wouldn't go through.

Then they threatened me with collections and reports to the credit bureau. I don't want bad credit, so I am sucking it up and going through with the 6 months.

But heed this advice: Wedding Wire is a SCAM. If you do get any leads at all it is probably their own staff pretending to be customers.

Very similar. Alsi, as you I was told I WAS NOT DOING ENOUGH.

DUH, ISN'T THAT WHAT W E D D I N G W I R E PROMISED ME? BEWARE!

Signed me up for SPAM emails

I tried to use a tool on Wedding Wire (a seating tool) which required me to give me their email. Ever since, I get approximately 15 emails per day from different vendors all of whom are based in states NOT where we are getting married. There's no Customer Support for me to contact to get off these lists. I've done my best to let vendors know that we are not interested but I'm sure they're frustrated that they've wasted their time with me. Since the emails come directly from vendors, there's no way to unsubscribe either. I am very frustrated and wish I had never used their site.

Resolved: Won't terminate my contract

Updated by user Mar 12, 2015

After further correspondence with Wedding Wire, they deleted my paid plan and refunded the money for the month I was protesting. I am satisfied and this issue has been resolved.

Original review Mar 09, 2015
I signed up as a vendor with Wedding Wire under the impression I could terminate the contract on a month to month basis. I got only 2 direct referrals from them all month, and one referral that came via e-mail after a client used one of their sites to find my regular web page.

I've had much better success getting referrals and bookings from a local website. Wedding Wire seems only interested in packing in as many vendors as possible, thus collecting all the advertising fees.

I told them I do not want to be associated with them any more, but they will not terminate my contract. So now I'm stuck paying their high monthly fees for 6 months.

I am in the same situaion right now, only difference is I've been asking to be let out of the contract only after 2-3 Hours of paying for it. This is because I too thought it was a month to month payment.

As well as the fact that I stumbled upon all the complaints about them. Please help

Guest

Weddingwire - Leads Review from Bensalem, Pennsylvania

I posted a small free profile for my wife and I, who are ceremony musicians. Shortly after, I was contacted by a rep from wedding wire who tried to talk me into signing up for premium package that would cost over $100 a month.

I politely declined and said that I just wanted to check out the site first before I made any decisions. She then emailed me frequently and called on occasion to ask me the same questions. I eventually got frustrated and told her that I do not want to be contacted by her anymore because I was not interested. It was very pricey and there was no guarantee that I was going to get business from this.

She gave me a slightly snide and belittling response saying "I guess you're not interested in growing your business."

At that point I thought I was finished with her, but believe it or not she kept calling and emailing every so often. The crazy part: every once in a while we get contacted by a "prospective client" who wants more information about our business.

Not once have I received a return reply from the people we contact, which leads me to wonder if we're receiving fake correspondences generated by the sales member - who ever so conveniently sends me a little note every time somebody contacts me through the site. I've read enough bad reviews about the ethics of this company to know that there are better options out there for vendors.

Oh my! I'm in the same boat!

I signed up for the free account about a week ago {solo violinist, here} and I can't seem to shake the durn representative. I almost caved into purchasing the $50/month account, but I'm so glad I saw this forum! :) Saved me a lot of grief. Now I get to look forward to shaking the rep.
