Attention anyone who has a contract with Wedding Wire

If youre looking to cancel your contract early with Wedding Wire, you will not be able to do so. But in speaking with customer service, I learned that if you dispute the monthly charge with your credit card company, Wedding Wire will cancel your contract. You will not be charged for the remaining months in your contract. This is NOT something they tell you upfront. I found this out when they renewed my contract for another year.....automatically!Save yourself some money, and dispute the charge with your credit card company now!

User's recommendation: Save your money.

Juan Affuant dishonest Officiant

In April, my grandson John Florio and I were planning a celebration of his wedding. Wedding Wire recommended this man and, although I had already chosen someone, he convinced me to meet him at Panera and gave me a hard sale talk. I hesitantly gave him my grandson's credit card and called my grandson, who was unhappy that I did it. Nevertheless (and I am sorry that I did it) he accepted it. Being upset, I had an accident upon leaving Panera, totalled my car and landed in hospital. I called Juan and told him the event was off and to please credit the $150. He refused and since then have done everything in my power to have him credit the card. This has caused problems with my grandson and I and I shouldn't have given this person my grandson's credit card nor should he have accepted it.

Weddingwire - Scam for vendors
Update by user Sep 11, 2019

So, they continue to debate me about my “contract” with them, claiming I must pay for the rest of the year, and that they never guaranteed I would receive the leads I was promised. Apparently, verbal agreements mean nothing, as I was PROMISED by their employee Jessica...

we need to do a class action lawsuit as not one lead was legit, and no assistance during COVID-19 expecting to still recieve their payments while we can't have any events. This is a bad company and vendors need to come together to get their losses back.

Plain and Simple: FAKE LEADS

In America, cheating people is not illegal. All of America’s commercial activity consists of attempts to cheat buyers. Weddingwire is no exception. I signed up to Weddingwire in the beginning of 2019, excited to move my small Videography business forward I signed a one year contract. My year clearly started off on the wrong foot, because Weddingwire is an absolute scam. It's been 6 months and I have only gotten dead end leads. The emails usually come in a day before the money comes out of my account. They never respond, and they are usually worded exactly the same; "I am getting married on such and such date and would like more information about your services." Every single email, reads the same. I wish I would have looked through, done my research regarding this bogus company. DO NOT SIGN WITH WEDDINGWIRE, DO NOT!. Bypass the anger and disappointment that comes with realizing that this company, among many others do whatever it takes to get people like us, hopeful, creative, hardworking, hooked on a fake reality. Dishonesty is Weddingwire's motto, deception, and lack of business ethics, they have no social responsibility, no ethical responsibilities.

Unscrupulous business practices. Very unethical.

This company is very disorganized and unscrupulous. My fiancee and I are wedding videographers and we were so excited to become a part of Wedding Wire but we've dealt with unethical business tactics and harassment from them. The customer service is disorganized, we got conflicting information from various reps about promised leads, once we signed up we never received a confirmation or a contract, their billing system could not accept our 'in good standing' CC's and blamed the issues on the bank. We'd decided to cancel our membership but were met with hostility and harassment from customer service. I think Wedding Wire could end up being a good company under different management but our experience with them has been atrocious since the first call when we signed up for the pro membership. It's been an absolute nightmare for myself and my fiancee. We're just trying to get our business started and film weddings and we've ended up wasting our time dealing with Wedding Wire and their poor business practices. I'd stay away if you're a vendor looking to increase their business. It's a great resource for brides & grooms but for vendors....it's awful. We feel threatened by Wedding Wire.

DONT WASTE YOUR MARKETING BUDGET HERE

I signed up as a Featured Vendor on Wedding Wire a few short months ago. I can tell you that I should have come here and read all this first and it could have saved me a lot of grief. I am currently getting legal involved in releasing me from my contractual obligation as they are definitely not fulfilling theirs. The leads I have received are all robotic and computed generated at all hours of the day and night. The missed call leads are either other marketing companies trying to get my business, or spam and or fraudulent. If there is any other consumer here that has fought this issues and succeeded please contact me. Strength in numbers

I started my contract with wedding wire and will not be renewing. Do not waste your time with tHEM. They call and give you false expectations based on the numbers they hand out. You won't get any hits and then all of a sudden you get a handful all of which lead nowhere...

I signed up for Wedding Wire with the intention of using their free services. After so, I got bombarded with calls at work and emails asking to schedule a "Welcome Call" so they can "Verify" my account.

I had no intention of buying a paid membership when I scheduled the call, but the lady sold it very well - seemingly with interest in helping my small start-up business - with her terms on leads, page traffic, and revenue. I agreed to the lowest available package and she pushed me to pay for it through the phone by informing me that the "15% Off Discount" she got from "her boss" who apparently was close enough to hear the whole conversation was only available at that time. That was my first mistake. Second mistake was not looking into their services deeper prior to the call and being sucked into their sales pitch.

If you look pass all the paid Ads that they have of themselves and several other pages from their own website, you'll see the reality of it all - all the people who they have wronged through their services, all those who have lost their money to empty promises. Third mistake, After the call and payment of the initial first month due, I was surprise to receive an email that indicates "fixed initial term of 1 year" which I did not remember her mentioning. She repeated the 12 month payments but I did not remember agreeing to paying for a closed 12 months. But she insist that we discussed it.

I agreed to paying month to month and maybe canceling if I don't like it, that's what I understood. Fourth mistake, after searching everywhere for a way out I realized that I have been victimized by them as others have been. Countless complaints from people who have more expensive membership packages than I do complaining about their empty promises, lack of follow through, and zero customer results. Wedding Wire is fake reviews, fake leads, no assurance, 1 year contract trap - not at all small business friendly.

After so, 2-3 Hours after talking to my "representative", I sent her an emailing with the intention to cancel my membership. Not a days, a week, a month, or months after... only 2-3 hours after I paid. Ok, maybe if you are a big business, with money to spend to be on the first two pages, heck maybe even the first 3 options - then ok maybe this website is for you.

But for a small business trying to build a potfolio, you are wasting your money on them. After endless emails, between the representative and her supposed manager - them just repeatedly telling me that there was no way out of the contract despite the fact the I asked to get canceled only 2-3 hours after I paid for it. Still trying to sell the service and acting as if they care about the state of your business and have only the best intentions for the terms that they go buy. I gave up on them, they are just leeches trying their best to sell their services.

I am hoping to find a way out of this mess without ruining my credit, losing all the money, or possibly getting sued. I don't want anymore sales tactic or automated response from Wedding Wire.

Just refund me and cancel my membership. Please Help

Worst business ethics

Can't handle how terrible this company is. Stay away at all costs. They continue to charge my card after several requests to remove my company from their site. I've asked to cancel my paid listing, and the contract says it's possible to cancel after 6 months. Please avoid them. They are literally the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life. Leads are unbelievably fake produced by wedding wire themselves. I can't believe a company so big exists. And of course you can't leave a review on Yelp or Google. Hate these crooks. Ask anyone that has ever used them and you'll find the same results. Please just block all contacts from wedding wire.
